ok so we've all been hearing about the news from syria for over a year now.... it seems around a year ago or more, wifey mentioned that one of her co-workers, a syrian, was a very conservative, and well-behaved moslem... now it appears he has recently mentioned to her that he has family back in syria that occasionally place phone calls thru to him in australia and that bashir's govt. or whatever leader there is called, his govt. is tapping wifey's syrian co-workers calls and occasionally a govt. guy in syria will interrupt the call placed to australia

also, he mentioned one family acquaintance released from prison after 1 or 4 years or whatever it was in prison and who refuses to say one bad thing about the regime due to fear of being killed or repercussions to his family

this article by mia shanley from reuters also provides interesting information on syria....... isn't if funny, the french and the english can see eye to eye and have the cojones to fly some sorties over libya -- but nobody acting for the EU, which has more than enough of a military to restore some law and order in syria, can organize the EU to do that.......
