CNN's reporting is slightly better today

but in general, you cannot help but thinking these news people are so immersed in their daily activities that they are completely unable to see the forest for the trees, as a historian, would see the forest with the sweep of time.....

CNN plays the simpleton american argument: al-qaeda = boogeyman..... no comprehensive potrait is painted of the middle-east region/yemen --- factors involved..... it's just: bad guy boogeyman moslem = al qaeda

it's a pity because the real issues include demographics of said societies: massive populations of young ppl..... flaccid economies.... human-rights uprisings/civil repression, etc

so yesterday in my cab i met a compatriot swiss guy --- how can a swiss guy be my compatriot? becoz his mother and grandfather are from the same part of asturias, spain, as my grandmother (paternal side)

my paternal side grandmother, whom i never met before, was named ana and died suffering from -- what's that condition called, i don't remember, ummm, ummm, ummm, ummm... some genetic condition that makes you forget stuff -- oh alzeimers! that's it.... well ana was from cangas del narcea in the mountains there in asturias -- south of the coastal cities....

it turned out my swiss compatriot also has grandparents from that neck of the woods... so i emailed three more or less estranged uncles of mine... offspring of said ana: a neurotic jesuit psychiatrist, a courtroom judge, and a truck-driver - the latter, like myself, an intelligent guy but choosing to drive as a profession....

i'll wait and see if these 3 clowns get back to me or no

just gave a ride to three u.s. Armed forces ppl... They were definitely ok ppl and completely worthy of respect..also not acting like douchebags which is great..i gave them a small discount...im sure they r tough guys but if i had to punch up with u.s. Military dudes i would rather that than vs. Pacific islanders any day of the week, thats for sure

i will still continue to trashtalk cnn until i die most likely... It is very annoying that i cannot get a visa to visit america... I do not approve of cnn handing out u.s.
