sophistication of today's video games

played a sony playstation lately? wow.... friend initiated me into 'grand theft auto' and 'l.a. noire' a moment ago.... wow... had heard all of the hoopla in the media about violence... playstation dude's wife didn't like it either.... in grand theft auto you can shoot rpg's at ambulance/police/people... steal cars, gun people down, carjack, etc... very realistic gameplay

l.a. noire was like an interactive film noir movie from 40s hollywood, you are a detective in 1940s hollywood and have to solve crimes... you can question witnesses and choose 'truth/doubt/lie' where you challenge the speaker that they're lying, or believe them... go search for clues, etc... it's like a whole little parallel universe of superlative reality (realism) -- pretty amazing technology nowadays
