continuing on that last post... death of a loved one can bring tears to your eyes.... in popular culture, probably the most poignant mention of death is in hamlet's gravedigger scene where hamlet horation and the gravedigger reminisce about the dead jorrik.(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvCuNjcUI0M)......... other images that come to mind are eygptian mothers slapping their backs with branches by the pyramids (there's a big graveyard right there, and you can actually sleep on a big rock perched just above that graveyard, the giant pyramids, right in your face).... there's that funny scene in the wedding crasher movie, where that will farrel character talks up crashing funerals to pick up women, humorous (watch it here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GB7R14xBI6g), also memorable were the images of palestinian arab women in palestine cheering after 9/11 and doing that tongue-ulolizing or whatever they call that curdling scream...... u.s. military funerals with the ceremony and ritualism - the folding of the flag, etc.... but perhaps the greatest depiction of death of a loved one is the following clip from the simpsons cartoon where a traumatized vet who fails to save a hamster, goes on to throw it in a trash bin in the corner, scoring 2 points in the basketball net on the way... (see clip) which is to say, you have to get over your grief and just see the positive side to death: the departed will go on to bigger and better things in various forms of the afterlife, disincarnate and otherwise

now what i wanted to do with this line of thought is keep the things from tibet and move it onto china, as benji has spent some 18 months in mainland china from december 2003 thru february 2006, plus the 3 weeks in tibet in the year 2000 aforementioned.... we'll take that whole experience as one big 19months in 'china', as the chinese govt. would have it (one big china)... and see what we can come with.... (but not right now)...
