Bonnie Tyler's song

well in fact, i owned a vinyl compilation album with Bonnie Tyler's original 'Total eclipse of the heart' when i was around four or five years old........ however, despite thinking it was a good track -- it never did prove to be a tear-jerker for me until tonight seeing the Glee version .......... and that is including with the unusual listening experience i once had of it in 2005 shortly before hurricane katrina in Mississippi..... some 15 hispanics including myself were sharing a working hispanic guys house in an all african-american neighbourhood a short walk from the gulf of mexico in biloxi mississippi --- we were driven out by a couple of white american southerners to a golf course to lay some turf......... at least one of the american white southerner guys had very bright light blue eyes -- i remember this guy driving his golf course turf-laying machine around the gulf course...... i recall on the ride back to the household neighbourhood observing the civil engineering in that part of the world in my passive observant way.... giant freeways layed up high in the air built over long tracts of inland waterways... very well built...... on my walks to the nearby beach of the gulf of mexico there was a casino project being built (one of many)..... this casino, close to home, was memorable for its gigantic ornamental electric guitar some 7 or more stories high and probably a dozen metres wide or more............ later i was surprised to see this same gigantic ornamental guitar, taller even the the 6 or more storey casino built on a barge of sorts on the water, in a newspaper in china, a little more than a month later -- snapped like trash by the incredible power of the gigantic hurricane -- the entire neighbourhood we had been living in --- probably all of biloxi -- was left strewn like matchsticks.......including the giant, high above the water, freeways......... i was surprised on the ride home, the two southerner american guys -- played this Bonnie Tyler 'total eclipse' song very loudly on their truck's stereo system.......... i thought they were kidding and was inclined to make a joke about it but just sat back and listened -- but it seemed a little awkward -- they certainly didn't bat an eyelash at the strange situation.......... i guess maybe they liked that song............. with a car full of hispanic guys in the backseat -- it seemed like a strange moment to enjoy it........

of the neighbourhood which once existed and surely must have been blown literally to smithereens according to news reports and such -- only a few weeks after these events -- one of the african-american neighbours was trying to lecture me on Noah's ark and race i guess ----- another afro-american guy surprised me, i guess, by just stopping me while i was walking across a car-park full of, i guess, crackers' cars.... to tell me, without any how-do-you-do or introductions -- that he was not like 'those people ' (referring to the white people) -- i certainly knew what he meant ------ the Noah's ark black guy which was my next-door-neighbour also told me i sounded like i was from London.............. some glorious-arse looking crazy afro-american woman came boldly up to me one time while i was chilling (and i can assure you i did precious little work and a helluva lot of chilling in my biloxi days) on the verandah to give me a hug (and kisses) which i was hesitant to receive and then proceeded to the backyard to yell at my fellow-spanish-speaking housebuddies before disappearing into eternity --- i wonder if she survived that hurricane (katrina).......
