inability to have a career at all

well, if some black american dude were to complain to me about not being able to have a normal life i'd say 'take a number' or just punch him in the face..... this has pretty much been the story of my life...... in younger life, most people would be happy to just travel and move about and seek happiness through travel and change and not worry about a strong career......

on my phonejob/dayjob -- for some govt. funded employment agency -- trying to find jobs for people that had been on worker's compensation due to body injuries for however long, we just say 'staff' pretty much the same way as 'stuff'......

culture shock and the brain

i sometimes recount the tale of the hardest blow i have taken in my life... it was a mighty blow, some australian aborigines in a ghetto in sydney were trying to sell me fake pot -- and cheat me out of $20 -- i stupidly argued with them and the next thing i could see a five inch like diameter log -- very solid, about a yard long, coming down hard on my head, i was too slow to move.... the blow left a scar an inch long on my hairline and my head spat blood immediately -- i left and went home in an ambulance -- the pain was noticeable two days and perhaps more after that along with a sense of sadness and concussion

how can tremendous physical blows and drugs and study and travel affect the mind?

certainly culture shock can and will affect the mind, it is quite something to spend a few months here and a few months there and then another half year in air conditioned sumptuous luxury (all in china) and then be confronted by the realities of central park, yellow taxis, streets that are 'a bitch to walk' in the words of one texan woman and all that shit......

i found that perhaps laziness, self-imposed incarceration (hermet life), even marijuana, can lead to a greater appreciation of life (e.g., in china) ---

i remember after making some kind of little girlfriend in ny - actually an older woman, a kind of texan, that i was trying to explain to her the reality of street bums in china and trying to differentiate that or match that to the reality of nyc

anyway, with regard to the last blog, probably i am just too lazy, mentally too.... it takes a lot of discipline to study to learn -- not just to read for pleasure -- i certainly could spend some time every week trying to learn to speak russian -- i really would like to go and live in russia someday -- but not without having a strong understanding of their language

moving on..... as i laze on my couch at 930pm - watching fox news where it is 730am on the same date....... i had some other vague ideas

how much i liked the virginians when i spent 90 days there in 2001 -- what good people they seemed to me at the time...... later even years later, meeting one in nyc in a kitchen where we worked, again she seemed like such a good person...... i have been to other southern states in america but they never struck me as such good people as the virginians -- perhaps its a question of vibrations --- of course, california is great but becomes not disimilar to australia which i probably must like as i have spent so much time here........

i find if i think retrospectively about my travels to and fro now, as it seems at age 35 youth is completely evading me..... i find that while i understand people better, their motivations, how they see themselves and what they want out of life, i find that the wanderlust i felt in the past is gone..... the pleasure of seeing a corner of spain or living in paris....... or virginia before that....... or spending a year and a half in china........

in terms of spirituality, i find that as i am unable, like these feted mystics of india or wherever, to experience para-satma (whatever that is) - astral travel - awareness of cosmic consciousness -- i find myself just a little bit of a monkey, somewhat lonely and desirous to know God more intimately -- to feel God closer...... of course God is a big mystery and all that -- how can existence... something... exist in the first place? how can God or ANYTHING even exist to begin with? it's just too mysterious to fathom..... still, perhaps becoz of too much chicken and not enough exercise and whatever other matters weigh on my mind.... well certainly i find with a mortgage and a wife, there is certainly no room for the spring in the step of travel, the happy mounting of a backpack and the discovery of a new rincon....

education can take the form of an apprenticeship like some kind of craftsman, a pottery master, perhaps.... or in an institution like a university, of which there have been 500 years ago in andalucia in spain........ before that baghdad was a centre of learning in the world, producing algebra and chemistry and other gnosises

the ancient egyptians were said to have developed a kind of electric lightbulb and been able to brew magnificent beer, as well as having outstanding engineering (post the construction of the mysterious pyramids of Cheops)

the ancient Greeks are famed for their early foray into democracy and the philosophers they produced like Socrates and Plato

before the gushing onset of the modern era, perhaps best marked by the achievements of the 20th century (in its entirety) and even before that in the steam energy revolution and the efforts of the british and americans to industrialize in the 19th century, this before gushing onset, and at its outset, we still find quaint examples of literary philosophers like Nietzsche and Descartes.......

nowadays, while there are very many thousands of university educated writers cum philosophers, a great many of them working in the media as journalists and writer/commentators of various conditions of modern affairs (mostly politics and power sharing/control in society)

then there are the creative novelists who engage the minds and imaginations of children with there long worded epics about dragons and skulls and what not

all of these things are education, along with television...... once, in spain, a Nation that prides itself on its culture, in terms of love for literature and painting (perhaps to the point of overly austerity and most definitely with a strong, and i will say, ignorant influence of Catholicism), a 16 year old at high school there marvelled at me how one of the new yorker girls billeting at her home in madrid openly confessed that the 16 year old american girl spent HOURS every day watching tv - perhaps 5 or 6 or more

i have many times been an apologist for americans, finding in them many qualities perhaps worthy of defense.... for example, i would have thought, well this girl is sacrificing her own best interests to further the mastery and establishment of television which is a vital medium..... however, this was an ugly defense.... whether there's any truth to it, we'll leave that to you to decide, but we daresay, even with all that nasty catholicism, the spanish girl seemed infinitely more cultured than the american girl with her hours of tv........ probably in her own country she would have been considered a loser for not participating in group activities like glee club, marching bands, sports teams and so forth...... or maybe she just lied about her tv habits -- but certainly there are millions more like her out there

can we come to an end in learning? i certainly read voraciously as a child and teenager... from my first book, a biography written for teenage level english, i never could get enough of the things that mattered to me..... in an amazing coincidence, i saw a great many of the novels i read turned into movies by the 'hollywood establishment' after 9/11, with the exception of huxley's 'brave new world' which i wouldn't be surprised if some producers in hollywood decide to make, before i die

but while i sought further education, or at least a mental challenge after all this reading, even if it meant living in a society where i couldn't speak the language.... some of my friends would have said that i was 'full of shit' -- with all that learning and still setting such a lousy example, living like some kind of lazy, severely underfunded rock star... too lazy to work, drinking too much -- unnecessary complications with women......

can education have a finality? i find myself, while once an avid reader, now reluctant to read anything apart from news articles published by the major american and british agencies and sundry others like reuters, ap, etc.....

a kind of 'witch' woman in spain once told me about americans: with americans, you get a guy that knows nothing but how to put the lid on a coca-cola bottle, he is a wizard at that, but he doesn't know how to do anything else'....... whether this is true or no, the plain reality is that there are so many fields of endeavor, we do need experts in various matters like war, geopolitics, science, space exploration (which is actually just orbital activities) and so forth

i marvel that i could never see in australia in my youth, so many seeds for potential -- even now, sadly, these seeds still are slow to grow and grow in silence, due to the domination of the mass media and intelligentsia (universities and suchlike) by the english (who here, as stated many times in this blog) questionably misrepresent their ethnicity for unclear reasons (possible because as the gravedigger in hamlet said, they're all mad)...... still a society like australia affords opportunities for interracial relationships and growth and success that european nations do not have

in the case of the americans, having so much practice of melting-pot-ism, we find that their race is already strongly established and can be more or less considered a whole new race, unlike australia, which is still very embryonic, although definitely reformist

in japan, many is the case of the man who keeps his same job his entire lifelong, for the same company, travelling the same train ride to and from work, decade after decade... i couldn't stomach this myself as a younger man and even now wonder how i can stomach the loss of adventure, the inability, without an exciting and hard to come by job such as foreign correspondent for the media, how i can go on living in this country -- nice as it is

what did i find challenging to the mind and spirit above all else? living in bulgaria -- the two years i spent there in 2007 and 2008 were a bona fide hell -- pure adversity in concentrated form....... certainly, this adversity must have produced virtue according to bacon -- however i question that as i felt i regressed in bulgaria, falling victim to uncontrollable anger and negativity -- much of which is an unfortunate legacy of the russian experiment and foray into controlled governmental economics and social engineering......... still, as a person who wishes to do all he can to improve the mental side of his life.... the question becomes, how? perhaps the lack of desire to read more is due to a kind of boredom with words.... words, words, words.... still, this isn't to say that my mind is even worthy of all of shakespeare's plays, i never could try swallowing macbeth, although i may try again one day -- i could get the merchant of venice, hamlet, the taming of the shrew, a midsummer night's dream, king lear.... they all made sense...... one day i'll try at macbeth again

the next matter of education is genetics...... genes take generations to nurture and in the more or less peaceful sharing of this gigantic, although now thoroughly mastered (in terms of ease-of-travel) planet, we find that while an occasional war breaks out between one set of gene-bearers/Nations and the next, or civil war, most of the people live more or less peacibly, however they hamstring their ability to advance by unfortunate aparteid-ism and token-ism as ventured many times before in this blog

we find that we are all seeking a great deal of comfort and civilization.... where a lifespan can and does often reach 90 years or more with people's minds in good condition at this age, we ask, what WILL a man do with his life?

i find that while i enjoy some social intercourse, too much of it is unpleasant and forced... i often found i never lacked for friends and that sometimes there were too many friends or folks to hang out with, and sometimes too few and loneliness and depression set in....... my biggest fault, i think, in this lifetime has been an unwillingness to work when i could have, and a sense of stung indignation which unfortunately married laziness and sloth leading to a kind of depression, which, perhaps, in the end, helped me with my ends

An aircraft will take to the skies on Thursday that flies so fast it would only take 12 minutes for it to travel from LA to New York.

But before you start getting excited about the prospect of the technology being incorporated into the next generation of Boeing or Airbus aircraft, be aware that this is an unmanned machine being developed by the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency for military use.

A Wall Street Journal report says that if all goes to plan on Thursday’s flight, the Pentagon’s Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2, or HTV-2, could reach speeds of around 13,000mph – that’s 3.6 miles a second.

Weather permitting (a flight scheduled for Wednesday was scrapped due to bad weather), the test flight will begin on Thursday morning at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California when an Air Force Minotaur IV rocket takes the HTV-2 to the edge of space.

From there, the HTV-2 should separate from the rocket before flying over the Pacific at lightning speeds of up to Mach 20. At Mach 20, you could travel between London and Sydney in under 60 minutes.

The US military is interested in developing the hypersonic aircraft so that it can possess a machine which would be capable of reaching any part of the world in less than an hour. Presumably it would be armed to the teeth with weapons rather than delivering flowers.

Let’s hope Thursday’s test flight goes better than last year’s attempt when controllers lost contact with the craft just a few minutes after launch. The event won’t be shown online, though you can follow news and updates about it on the agency’s Twitter feed.

wondering about einstein's theory of relativity: e=mc2 --- this is to say that 'energy' is equal to the speed that light travels at (multiplied by itself or 'squared') multiplied by mass

certainly, this theory is one that stands INDEPENDENTLY of human observation... so that it wouldn't matter if a human observer was suffering and perceiving time to pass slowly or having a gay old time (eg., like in the flintstones) and perceiving time to pass or travel quickly

where is the reference made to time in e=mc2 --- there is none, only reference to speed (the speed of light which is more or less a definite although a subjective definite as light as warped when traveling to black holes and we still do not know how light travels anyway particles or waves or both)..... is speed the same as time? what is the relationship between speed and time? if light 'bends' when approaching a massively powerful 'black hole' how does its speed change accordingly?

is it possible to travel faster than the speed of light? certainly it must be.... for example, if i watch people in nyc on tv live, really, i am getting the image at the speed of light (almost) due to the rapid nature of telecommunications.... but say we were to communicate telepathically with spock while he is in some other galaxy (with chewbacca).... while light would travel back to earth from the other galaxy in years or centuries, thought transference would occur must faster than the speed of light... certainly this must be possible (thought transference to other galaxies)

what is light? it travels by waves and particles, but what is it? it can emit heat but so can dark matter.... light is what we call certain vibrations that are eyes perceive that are a small band on the electromagnetic spectrum -- but even bats do not need this to travel with

in fact, after spending 50 hours a week driving for 2 years -- and not having had a single accident with another car.... not even once.... despite many times having to take my eyes of the road for many moments, certainly a sixth sense is developed that acts like a kind of radar

how can matter travel faster than light? if we agree that thought can travel faster than light, how is it that the matter that comprises thought (transmuted from air and food) can travel faster than light? certainly Soul can travel faster than light but does Soul need to travel at all, since it is everywhere


according to memory, the speed of light travels at 300,000 kps... so if the sunlight takes 10 minutes approx. to arrive to faraway Earth, then multiply 300,000kilometres by 600 (seconds) and this should give the distance between sun and Earth -- but if time does not exist -- then how can be absolutely say that light takes x seconds to travel x distance? we cannot. this must be why einstein called his problem the theory of relativity and not the theory of abolutivity.... because in absolute terms, it is self-evident that it is possible to travel faster than the speed of light -- the question then becomes, WHAT? is travelling aster than the speed of light (matter, Soul, Chi-energy (prana or life force)) or all of the above........... also, if time is not real (and it seems obvious that it isn't, given the states of consciousness we experience in sleep compared to waking life and drug-induced states)....... then values for the speed of light are not real....... that is why light cannot travel away from a black hole - it is sucked in

black holes have incredibly dense mass -- they also have massive amounts of energy -- the relationship in e=mc2 of mass and energy is: e/m = c2 or energy divided by mass = speed of light squared....... the speed of light around a black hole is a negative or a nothing (either less than zero or zero) --- squaring a negative number gives us a positive result: e.g., -2$ (2$ debt) squared = $4.... not -4$..... so if light is travelling backwards (getting sucked in or bent or warped around a black hole) we know this is because of a very high value of m (mass) in the black hole........

it's a hard problem to understand

the black hole has a relatively small mass with regard to its energy..... if light is sucked into the black hole at what speed does it travel? what we call light is a form of matter (it is not Soul and it is not chi-energy or prana - life force) Soul may manifest some divine form of light however this is not what we usually call light which is purely a material/matter manifestation..... e/m = c2.... the relationship of light to a black hole is funny, at some point, the light is sucked in so hard it is NEUTRALIZED: it no longer travels at all, therefore c2 = zero.... if c2 = zero (light is not travelling anymore, ceases to exist) then e/m must also equal zero........ this then means that the energy of the black hole equals zero as the mass would be something....... how can we say the black hole has no energy? it doesn't make sense.......... probably the energy has a negative value then.... too hard to understand.... black holes sure seem pretty cool though, they seem to be the opposite of suns or stars
