i remember reading a book once, late at nites, in a cave in arizona by a beautiful river in sedona.... with the light of my cell phone.... it was written by a guy in the 50s in america that wanted to fight the russian communist threat.... the fbi or whoever like that couldn't even promise him any help in the event his lost his job do to his spying activities... he had a lot of daughters and a wife to support -- communism was looking like a strong threat in america in those days with open parties even despite mccarthyism i suppose.... also russians were sending spies that were strong-willed enough to act with impunity.........

another story i remember, if not from that same book, actually definitely not from that same book but rather, a book read in dublin at a library there, this time at a table, by former russian kgb agents who'd been posted all over the world.... two agents were bitching about how they were delayed and had to wait at a park for more instruction
